Myss Shan is a multifaceted creative force — author, screenwriter, filmmaker, director, and producer. Born in Louisiana and raised in Dallas, Texas, she has built an empire around storytelling that bridges literature and film.
As the founder of Myss Shan Productions, she has written, directed, and produced films such as Lovers & Friends and The Real Dopeboyz of Atlanta, with more projects in the works including her upcoming adaptation of Addicted to a Dirty South Thug. With five captivating screenplays already completed, she continues to expand her legacy in cinema while staying true to her roots in urban fiction.
With over a decade of experience in publishing, Myss Shan has authored more than 40 books, published over 200 authors, and earned numerous awards for literary excellence. Her 2012 novel Hated By Many, Loved By None won the Urban Fiction Book of the Year from AAMBC. She is also the owner of Shan Presents, an independent African-American publishing company, and the founder of the African American Book Expo.
